POSITION TITLE: Community Liaison Region 9 – Boone, Hendricks, Montgomery, Morgan and Putnam County
REPORTS TO: Community Partners Region 9 Director
POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Partners for Child Safety Program Community Liaisons work with families who are at risk of child maltreatment.
These families are identified via self, community, County Child Protective Services referrals. Primarily, Liaisons will provide the
following services to clients: community connection, crisis related resources, services are home based, and making referrals
to meet the needs of the client. Due to the nature of CPCS, job responsibilities are subject to change. Employees must be able
to adapt to new procedures as introduced.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide Homebased services and resource connection to at-risk families residing in the targeted Community/County.
- Develop and maintain familiarity with community resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with social workers and agencies serving families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Complete required documentation in timely manner.
- Provide transportation to families as needed.
- Work with the school system and various institutions related to the family.
- Attend required meetings, including Children’s Bureau in-services.
- Be available for intervention outside of normal work day/week.
- Assist families in making and obtain goals.
- Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.
- It is understood that each employee follows and adheres to the professional standards as outlined by your perspective
professional degree or license.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in a human service related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experiences in with child/families
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Trained in child development.
- Knowledge of community resource services and program.
- Knowledge in areas of abuse/neglect.
- Demonstrate an ability to handle any situation that arises during visitations.
- Experience in empowering families, setting goals for clients, and assisting them in the process to change required.
- Experience/.ability to respond appropriately to culture differences in the community, staff, and clients is required.
EQUIPMENT
-Ability to perform general operations in computer word processing, fax, copier, telephone, and other various
office machines is required.

Change That Works is seeking a motivated, organized, and dedicated individual to work with a Regional Lead to build political will, support, and leadership for the enactment of important legislation in Congress to benefit the lives of all Americans. The Field Organizer will work as part of a team to implement an escalating field campaign that will include mobilization, organization building, and earned media to influence priority Members of Congress.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to work with a Regional Lead to:
* Help execute a plan to build community-based accountability campaigns on critical issues in key states through activities such as house meetings, earned media events and other methods.
* Develop leadership in communities to expand public participation and educate federal elected officials and constituents policy initiatives.
* Take responsibility for organizing and implementing organization building and mobilization field activities in a designated area including one on one meetings, house meetings and regular field mobilizations.
* Build local organizations by recruiting, training, coaching, and motivating teams of volunteers in targeted areas.
* Mobilize activists to participate in targeted activities such as bird-dogging, demonstrations, and earned media activities—including letter-to-the-editor writing campaigns, op-eds, and events—designed to move priority elected officials.
Skills Required:
* Previous political organizing experience strongly preferred
* Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with a commitment to helping individuals to act collectively on their progressive values,
* Good listening and communication skills,
* Good judgment in interacting and communicating with the public, as well as political and community leaders,
* Willingness and ability to take direction and function well within a team structure,
* Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully in diverse communities,
* Willingness to learn new skills and stay current on news and issues that affect the campaign,
* Basic computer skills,
* Bilingual skills useful, but not required.
Other Qualifications:
* A valid driver’s license, and full-time access to a car
* Energized by political and issue advocacy involvement.
* Must be willing to relocate, if not based in cities listed above
Working Conditions:
* Long and irregular hours, including weekends and occasional holidays,
* Extensive travel likely in district, across state, and at times across the nation.
