condition: like new
Plate is interesting on so many levels. Dates from late 19th-early 20th century. Transfer print of "Fort Harrison in 1812" Terre Haute Ind. (So it may be a centennial plate ca. 1912, but could be earlier, possibly associated with the Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago.) Plate itself is creamy white with scalloped edges, gold trim, pattern of faint forget-me-nots. Mark indicates the plate was manufactured in France but decorated in Chicago (Keramic Photo Process) for Swope and Nehf Jewelers of Terre Haute (yes, origins of today's Swope Museum there). Condition is perfect. $10. Make an offer
(I've included a photo showing the plate was a prize winner at the Indiana State Fair!)
