Matched pair of decorated blacksmith made andirons. They have faces made to look like snakes or frogs--some sort of reptile or amphibian. They are probably over 200 years old. Most likely go back into the 1700's The back ends that received the most heat from the fire are well worn. The front decorated face sections are fine. Neat old fireplace furniture with lots of character. Uncommon to show decoration of this nature. Lots of blacksmith time and skill went into these andirons. Good old wrought iron material. KWS
