After 9 years, it’s time to let this project go and start on another. It’s a 1956 Chevrolet 210. Runs and drives well, but idle goes down very low when it gets warm. It just started doing this a couple of months ago. Edelbrock 1405 Carburetor may need adjusted/rebuilt/replaced. Please keep in mind that some of the info is based on what the previous owner told me.
Basics
Engine: 400ci
Cam: Erson racing (specifics unknown) with double roller timing
Transmission: 4L60/4L80
Rear: Believed to be original 3:55
Brakes: Power/drums
Wheels: Rallye
Steering: Manual
Exhaust: Dual glass packs with electric/remote cutouts and Rams Horn manifolds
Induction: Edelbrock RPM intake with 1405 Carburetor
Body: Previous owner says it was painted in the late 1980’s. Has some body filler. Both fenders were bent in while towing as seen in pics. Windshield is delaminating and has chips. Both door windows have cracks, but all windows go up and down. Rear windows have no cracks but sometimes slip out of the tracks when rolled down. Back glass is good. Lights & blinkers all work. It has LED headlights. Floor has some holes and loose/rusted braces. It must have been converted to a
4-speed at one time because of a square hole in the tunnel that is now patched up.
Interior: Headliner is perfect. Front bench seat is from a 1956 Pontiac. I have seat shells for it for $150. Interior was custom green when I got it. I dyed it black but now fading back to green. The dash pad is believed to be the original.
Extra info: I believe the car came from the factory with the following options:
1. Powerglide transmission
2. Brake booster (Still has the vacuum canister under the fender.)
3. Padded dash
I installed:
1. GPS speedometer
2. Return fuel line.
3. 1956 Chevy repro clock
4. The transmission has several wires and plugs from the TCI kit that I was told could be cut, but I never did. As seen in the video, the Racing Tech tachometer works. The stainless is in pretty good shape and all there. The chrome is a mixed bag but it’s all there. I bought some new & used parts for it over the years but never installed. I will be selling them separately.
