Job Overview:
Provides technical knowledge and design support on a variety of projects to develop and complete construction planning and drawings needed to support and completion of all needed scaffold design. Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer systems, including creating, updating and modifying technical drawings, and performs manual drafting. Also, responsible for developing material cost estimates on routine projects under direct supervision for construction as required by clients’ documents.
Essential Job Functions:
• Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits.
• Seamlessly integrating and working with project managers, and sub-contractors, to produce and alter drawings.
• Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
• Thinking creatively and critically to support the project team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings that work.
• Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material costs incurred in the installation of items.
• Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.
• Creating and continually updating project drawing lists.
• Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
• Printing various formats of drawing sets for project managers and site superintendents.
• Systematically saving sketches and drawings on our CAD server; keeping the server organized; updating project folders and files as jobs progress and revisions are made.
• Exhaustively reviewing and checking sketches and drawings for errors, before being sent to sub-contractors, project managers, etc.
• Organizing and uploading drawings to web based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with project and subcontractors.
• Create, edit, and update standard details for use in projects.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least three years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Outstanding fluency and skill within the AutoCAD program.
- Familiarity with Navisworks Manage/Freedom (preferred) or a similar software

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and/or may be located on a jobsite in a construction setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
