A simple-to-use portable sewing machine. It was serviced last month. Everything works fine. Makes a perfect straight stitch that quilters covet. Motor has a whisper quiet smooth sound, unlike the plastic sewing machines sold today. Beautiful paint. There's a dial to drop the feed dogs, so you can darn holes & free motion quilt—Featherweights lack the ability to drop the feed dogs. There’s also a handle on top for easy carrying—this is another feature missing on a Featherweight. Presser foot pressure is adjustable--useful when sewing thick fabric & very lightweight fabric. Manufactured in 1954 at the Singer factory in Anderson, South Carolina. Original foot pedal. Original box full of extra feet, bobbins, & accessories. Copy of instruction manual included. Very clean...inside & outside.
