- Material Handling: Loading and unloading sheet metal onto machines (like lasers or shears) and moving finished parts to designated areas using forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Part Finishing: Removing burrs and sharp edges from metal parts using hand tools like grinders, files, or deburring machines.
- Machine Assistance: Assisting operators with setup and basic tasks, such as feeding material into automatic metal-working machines.
- Quality Support: Breaking parts out of laser-cut sheets and performing basic visual inspections to ensure pieces match work orders.
- Assembly & Hardware: Performing simple sub-assembly tasks, such as installing fasteners, nuts, or other hardware onto metal components.
- Shop Upkeep: Cleaning machines, emptying scrap bins, and ensuring work areas are tidy and free of hazards.
Requirements & Skills:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for an entire 8- to 10-hour shift in a loud manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfort working with power tools and a general understanding of how shop machinery operates.
- Safety Consciousness: Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing required PPE like steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
