Seeking musicians/friends for music projects & open mic exploration (Indy (northish))

1234
Keystone Parkway near 116th

(google map)

Hoping to connect with musicians, songwriters, vocalists and digital content creators, make new friends (F/M/Other, 25 y.o.+) as I ease back into music after a decades-long detour in a corporate black hole.

I'll be checking out open mic venues around the city over the coming months to discover local talent and find like-minded creatives (experienced or aspiring) who'd like to meet up at a venue to listen and/or perform.

I created an online calendar of recurring open mic venues around Indy for anyone who's interested. I'll add new places as I find them (or you let me know). Visit http://openmic.indianainternet.net

About Me, the Musician:
You can check out my rambling musician bio at https://www.bandmix.com/hume and feel free to contact me anytime if you'd like talk, meet up, jam, explore live and virtual performance, collaborate on audio, video, and other digital/multimedia projects (2 are outlined below) - and maybe make money too.

2 projects in development that need collaborators:

Project 1) Collaborate in different duos and small ensembles to play or write music, make noise, or co-create wild, multi-sensory live performance "experiences" that may include multimedia and alternative performance elements, such as:
* digital projections pre-produced videos, static and animated graphics, and images
* Spoken / sung narrative snippets (live and/or pre-produced) that provide backdrops
and story elements to a song or instrumental.
* I'm considering genres that include mainstream styles as well as avant garde, experimental, minimalist, atmospheric, trance and other styles on the edge or over the top.

The experimental stuff would be like a synthesthia-inducing mashup of performance art, Moth stories, poetry slams, TED talks, live theater, modern dance, even trippy-artful powerpoints?, and of course music that's fun, engaging, compelling, accessable, full of energy, and not overly esoteric.

Project 2) I may create either a podcast series or vlog / youtube channel (or both) that showcases local undiscovered local talent that I meet at the aforementioned open mics. Each segment will be 3-5 minutes and feature one person or ensemble. It will enable them to tell their stories about their journey, share their inspirations, hopes, dreams, desires, challenges - and of course feature their music.
