This was either my grandmother's or great grandmother's silverware set. Not positive of the year, but online research says 1930's to 1950's. There are 53 pieces in a basket weave type pattern. The certificate by National Silver Company, and guaranteed by Good Housekeeping, says it is plated with pure silver on 18% nickel-silver blanks and frequently used pieces are extra plated with solid silver at the points of greatest wear. There are also 50 pieces of stainless steel, from the same time period, in a different pattern that grandma also stored in this box. So there are a total of 103 pieces.
